    1775 Infantry Officer's hanger

Probably my favourite type of sword from this period. A good slot hilted hanger of the sort British and American officers wore during the Revolution.

In all original condition. A rare type not often found. £900

    David,

That is a fine sword--is it a silver "plated" iron hilt?

Looks like applied silver from the photo. What a beauty! I'm having a vision of an English officer with your sword facing off with an American officer armed with a homespun short saber or hunting sword.
