    Upgraded Smallsword

This is a smallsword that we just made yesterday for our dealer at the Ohio Ren Fest. Like the Katzbalger, this is also a good example of an upgraded stock item from us. This is based off of our short rapier blade and our basic smallsword hilt and plate.

    Blade length : 33.5"
    Pommel : spiral fluted acorn
Grip: spiral fluted tigerstripe maple from B.C. Rich(http://www.bcrich.com/) with antiqued finish
Plate : Our standard smallsword plate with hand chisel work
Hilt : Our standard smallsword trainer hilt with hand chisel work

For more pictures of this smallsword please visit out site : http://imakeswords.com/spiralsmallsword.htm

Looks pretty nice. I checked your site for more information since it looks close to something I'm looking for, but couldn't find the information I was looking for. What is the width of the blade at the hilt and what is the sword's weight? BTW, I've added your site to my favorite's list.

    Matthew,
What's the cross-section of the blade? Is it the usual "hollow triangle" or is it flat, spadroon-style? Either way, it's a handsome sword.

This is a flat grind with a diamond cross section. With some distal taper too. The pattern welded smallsword that is in the works is more of a 3 sided spike with hollow grinds.
