FS Confederate Civil War Boyle & Gamble Saber Bayonet w/ Orig Leather Scabbard

I have for sale a Confederate Civil War Saber Bayonet with Original Leather Scabbard made by Boyle & Gamble of Richmond, Virginia. It has no maker's name but does bear the stamped number, '62', under the quillion.

It does have some issues, in that the last 1 1/2" of the scabbard, where the metal tip should be, the latch mechanism and frog-stud are absent, and there is minor pitting to the blade near the tip.

Having said that, there is no edge damage to the blade, and the entire item is in original, as-found condition. I live in Evington, VA, and bought it in Roanoke, VA.

The blade is 19 3/4" long and the aperture for the rifle or musket barrel is 7/8" diameter.

I believe it to be worth about $1750 and offer it for that price.
