An "I don't have a clue" knife/sword identification request for help please.

Completely out of my comfort zone. My expertise is European swords and bayonets.

Helping out a friend. Have also put this on the Middle East/India site. 85cm long.

    Any help really greatly appreciated.

The Chinese dragon motif is a good indicator, even though surrounding areas use it. This appears to be a Chinese minority dao made relatively recently. It is hard to place exactly, but it has a resemblance to a dah, which may mean it is from a Burmese minority people in Southern Hunan Province.
