    Please Help Identify this Sword

    Hi Guys,

    Happy New Year Everyone!!

Could anyone please help identify this sword. It's from Sabah, during the Japanese occupation of Malaysia.
I'd like to know anything I can. Unfortunately the blade tip has broken off and is pretty rusted.
Where it's from, type and name?

    Thank You!Name: unknownsword.jpg

Burmese dha. The dha/daab is a common continental SE Asian sword, mostly from Burma, Thailand, and Cambodia. The tip is probably intact, rather than broken. A square tip is common on Burmese dha, and rare elsewhere. The hilt on this one, including the woven wire on the grip, is a common enough Burmese style.

    Cheers!
