    1811 Blucher

German swords is not what I usually collect but I liked this one with leather grip covering still present over the cord that gives it a ribbed effect. No markings on the sword, the blade 32" long and light and flexible.
I believe this is the early Napoleonic era sword.

    Hi Will,

I'm hoping to pick up a Blucher at some point although I don't have the same interest as I would in a 1796 LC. Strange what I am attracted to, given its almost the same sword. It would be nice to find one at the right price for comparison purposes.

I'm really not a fan of the leather over cord style grip. Much prefer a wooden rib version for some reason.

Still its a nice looking piece from an interesting point in history!

Hello, are you sure there is no marking on it at all?
Not even at the spine of the blade?
