    Victorian Indian Army private purchase Bowie knife

    A possible Victorian officer's private purchase bowie knife.
    Maker marked "Military Supply Syndicate" who were known to make private purchase Kukris.
    11 inch blade with a buffalo horn hilt and a brass three bar guard in a stylised 1821 light cavalry hilt form. Brass chappe to wooden sheath but leather of sheath in very poor condition.
    No reference to this style of knife in Ron Flook's books - London Knife Book or British and Commonwealth Military Kinves
