    The pommel and grip (perhaps made of ebony) match some Italian swords but there are small differences. I suspect this is something like an Italian adjutant's sword from the early-to-mid 1800s, cut down.

    Or just a variation of a French infantry officer sabre of the 1800 type. It looks like the blade was shortened, but definitely authentic.
