Early American Eagle Head sword ?
Hello
What are your thoughts on this sword?
I can not find anything about it.
No maker marks.
No edge on the blade
Military issue or Lodge sword.
Thank you very much for help

These are linked to the Patriotic Sons Of America and no earlier than the late 1800s. Possibly as late as the early 1900s. The pommel is 180 degrees off and should face the edge of the blade.

The alloy pommels are a giveaway as to timeline. I had bought a shorter one a long time ago and they turned up less frequently but it seems like more and more have surfaced. There has been one on ebay for more than a year, likely due to the cost. The type is shown and listed in the Kaplan, Marino and Hamilton book on fraternal swords.
Seems like a lifetime ago that I brought home these two from a local shop.

Cheers
