    Lightbulb Saxon Kavallrie Sabers, Mod 1891

    Gentlemen: Found these today. One I had buried in my junk and rediscovered it, the other came via USPS.

    Saxon Sabers are hard to find. Both seem to be marked for Saxon Hussaren. And, I have the scabbards.

    Yes, All of the new model sabers and degens promulgated in 1889/1891 were pipebacked blades. The Saxons preferred a saber, but the other German States had straight blades.

    The normal pattern blades were relegated to the support units at that time, like the various Bluecher sabers, all of which went to the Artillery and Support Units.
