    Help Identifying Wilkinson Sword

I am not a collector, but have inherited two swords, one possibly a German naval sword that i posted a thread about earlier, and this sword, which appears to be made by Wilkinson. Pics may require two posts, but I'm guessing more is better. If anyone can help with identifying the sword and any additional information or references that would be helpful I am much obliged. Thank you.

I think it's an 1821 pattern Heavy Cavalry Officers sword with Wilkinson Patent Hilt. The serial number would suggest WWI (probably) It may be possible to get further details from www.armsresearch.co.uk. For a small fee they can provide a copy of the original sales ledger entry if one exists

Certainly looks an 1821 heavy Cavalry Officers sword and as Michael says Wilkinsons best quality . But that grip looks to be rubber and as far as I know that is wrong . It may be that it has been a recent recover . Maybe i am wrong and it would be good to have more input about the grip .

The patent hilt was a slab grip arrangement that often did not have the usual fishskin covering, see link below from www.antique-swords.eu for an example.
