    smallsword (epee) blade form dating?

    Gentlemen,

Can anyone point to a source material reference that details the earliest appearance of the deeply fullered triangular cross-section blade form?

The Small Sword in England by J.D. Alward (Hutchinson's Scientific &Technical Publications 1945) discusses early colichemarde blades with a flat hexagonal section dated around 1675 and triangular cross-section blades following not long after. (p37)
