    DIY Belt Grinder

I am using a hand-held belt grinder to satisfy my blade making needs and it sucks.
I wanna build a real stationary belt grinder in the vein of a Burr King or something big and powerful like that.
Do you guys know of any free belt grinder plans on the net?
I could build one without using any plans but it doesn't hurt to have them anyway.
Or maybe you've built a DIY Belt Grinder and want to share some ideas? (I am not talking about belt Grinder kits)
    Thanks!

What are the facts? Again and again and again - what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell," avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history" — what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your single clue. Get the facts! - - Heinlein

There's a step by step grinder build with photos that is ongoing at Don Fogg's forums. It's pinned at the top of the toolmaking section.

If you pick up a copy of The Fifty Dollar Knife Shop, it'll show you how to build a belt grinder cheap.

There is a good thread on a KMG style grinder build that a couple of folks are apparently have good luck with. It's not exact plans, but it looks like a good place to start.

And fighteth with the heat of the furnace,
And the noise of the hammer and the anvil is ever in his ears,
And his eyes look still upon the pattern of the thing that he maketh.
He setteth his mind to finish his work,
And waiteth to polish it perfectly.
