    A powerful panabas

I have been always interested in this type of Moro sword. Really intimidating and powerful Please post more pictures of your panabas.

    Look at this magnificent example

"A very heavy Moro axe 'Panabas'. Very large and robust steel beheading 16 " blade 'Tabas' with flared end and stepped design to the forte, half an inch thick on its back edge. The octangonal curving wooden haft with facets, the collar bound with braided rattan cane and with simple carving. The end becoming flared, museum painted inventory number 581 MOE, and a label 'M'. This is a large and sturdy example of this type of weapon, used for warfare and for executions. 32 inches long approximately. Southern Philippines, Malabang/Mindanao. 19th century."
