    FS: 2 German Army Swords

    Hello,

My collecting interests have changed over the past few years from German military to Caucasian/Persian. I'll be listing my remaining German swords over the next year--

Sword #1 is a WWI period German Cavalry Lionhead.

This sword is a dress model with 7/8 inch blade width at guard. It has no makers mark .

The brass hilt is the highlight of this sword--most of the heavy yellow gold gilding is intact as are all the grip wires. Both red eyes are present. There is hand enhancing to the Lion's head including the peened tang which you usually only see on higher quality swords.
Scabbard is a pre 1910 2 ring anodized type.
Blade still fits snugly in scabbard. Blade has nice standard militay engraving but there is darkening, age spotting, and some rust. Blade is straight and not nicked up.
Sword is 36 inches overall with a 31 inch blade.

Sword #2 is a WWII German army Dovehead. It is part of a highly collectible Field Marshall series made by Eickhorn from 1934-1944. The name of this model is the Roon and it was the most expensive sword to purchase as an officer compared to other models due to the hand engraving. This is an early model with brass hilt-- gilding is pretty much gone. Wires are intact--hilt is excellent except for some minor damage near where top of guard enters.
Scabbard is a nice one ring black painted type with no dents. Blade rates excellent and has the 1934-1941 Eickhorn logo.

Price on the Lionhead is $575
Price on the Dovehead is $375
    Take the pair for $825
Prices include shipping within the USA

also willing to trade if you have anything that looks like this:

    Thanks for looking
