    "Company of Devils"

My latest project is a world war 2 piece. I get to play the bad guy in this one. Not much HEMA involved. The swordplay is all hollywood - and frankly we had almost no time to choreograph and rehears so some of it got winged in front of the camera. But it will be fun....

I play a black magician working with the third reich to summon demons. The third reich wants to use them to create supersoldiers... me I just want the return of the old ancient gods.
Under cover agent is to be extracted by the USA commando unit when things fall apart. The ancient magikal codex is about to be united into my hands and they have to stop it.
Commando unit includes a black war hero with a katana taken off of Japanese soldiers....

Final fight involves me with a Cas Iberia Tinker one hander against his Katana in the dungeon in front of the ritual area....

I had a ton of fun. My part is done.... they now have another week and a half of filming to do. Then ton's of editing and digital effects....

Katana made by Dave Baker at my recommendation to the producers. My understanding is that the axe used by the demon soldier was made by Dave also - but I could be mistaken on that one.
They are really happy with Dave and he will probably be getting future work out of them.

Was it steel then? The Cas/Tinker blades are steel, but Dave works mostly in aluminum, as does Hollywood...

Dave sent an aluminum katana. Which doesn't make me totally happy, I requested steel. One fight scene and I chewed up the edge of that thing like crazy while trying not too.

If the production had had the funds i would have gotten an aluminum replica of the Tinker sword and wouldn't have had a problem. The point of using the Cas/Tinker was that I already owned it with both sharp and blunt blades and they didn't have to buy more weapons.

We had a screening here in Portland this summer. The fact that I chewed up the edge of the katana with my steel sword doesn't seem to show up on camera...... so I guess it all works.
