Burma & Thailand sword identification HELP

Could anyone help me identify these two swords? I got these from an older gentleman (65ish) who said that he has had them since the 1950s. I was only told that the brown wooden one was from Burma and the metal finish sword was from Thailand. I am just trying to find out what/where they are from and a rough value. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My email address is JasonWVB@Roadrunner.com Here are some pics as well.

I am pretty sure that the metal sheathed/handled one is a Burmese Dha.

Very hard to tell from the pics a value, I don't think they will be worth much from a monetary point of view, but maybe worth more to you as a collector?

It could be early 1900's to modern.

THe wooden one looks modern to me but other more experienced people might have a better idea.

    Cheers

    Jason

They both look fairly modern, as in 20th Century.

I'm lost for the name of the one in wood, but I have seen them used in Thailand for the practice of Krabi Krabong.

The one in metal is almost certainly a Burmese Dha. I have one quite similar myself, from Burma.

The wooden one is a modern thai made piece:

Here is an informative thread regarding contemporary pieces:

That's definitely Burmese writing on the blade of the one in metal. It's not a script I can read myself, but if you ever become curious, I may be able to get you a translation of what it says.
