Quick Question: Society or Fraternal Sword Motifs

    Hi All,

Recently acquired a society or fraternal sword along with a collection of more military pieces - usual cruciform hilt, plain pommel and with a red leather scabbard. It's fairly plain, but the blade is etched and includes two motifs in particular: a cross and what looks like a rose. I'm aware that these are sometimes associated with 19th Century philosophical movements such as Rosicrucianism, but are they "generic" symbols or do they point to a specific group or sect?

Pics attached for info - thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    John
