Bringing Swords through Czech Republic Customs

Hi,

I'm posting this on behalf of a Czech friend in my country. I'm at a lost of where best to post this, but I choose this section in hope to get more responses.

This Czech friend of mine wanted to purchase a sword (possibly a katana) then bring it home by putting it into his check-in luggage when he returns to Czech Republic.

I have this nagging concern that he may get into Customs problem at Czech immigration.

Any advice for this friend of mine? Thanks in advance.
