Longship Armoury Custom Oakeshott Type XVa.3

Here's a custom Type XVa longsword based on customer specifications. It's very similar to the Oakeshott XVa.3 featured in Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword. Grip is a nice bleu de France, fitting for a sword found in France.

Guard is more like 10". The handle color is not my style, but the handling is super sweet cake. Did I say the blade is super sharp with tons of spring? Glad I can say I do all my own heat treat,, gotta treat it right

The blade I really 37 and 1/2 and the total is more like 50 and 1/2 if you want to get technical. Making that pommel from solid steel was pretty severe. Now to get the hilt prototype for the Silvia over to Greybeard
