To be honest, going from the pictures, it doesn't look much like any real sword. It looks just like something vaguely sword shaped, cut from some flat plate steel and left to rust badly. While that ''pommel" looks vaguely viking.., I've never heard of one integral with the tang

I would guess that it was made in the last few decades.

I haven't seen anything like it from the Viking or early (or later) medieval periods. What is the provenance or circumstances under which you found it?

An excellent chance Dan is right; it looks like someone in a modern metal shop tried to make a "Vikingish" sword without knowing how the swords were really made.

I bought the sword last month on ebay united kingdom, the sword looks old and shows usage notches on the edge, I'm no expert but I would say that is old. Thank you all for your help and opinion.

It probably has usage notches because some kid has been swinging it at things in his back yard.

Keep in mind that 99% of these things sold on ebay are fake and the other 1% are illegally looted.
