    Presentation inscription on Imperial degen....

    Hello All,

This appears to be a presentation between medical officers. Can anyone confirm?

Hi Mark, I agree, a presentation between doctors. Anything else special about the sword? It looks like a typical IO98.

IIRC, Dale once mentioned that the folding guards on the m/1889 IODs weren't approved until 1903, yet this one is dated 1896. (But with memory being the slippery thing it is, I could be wrong).

According to the book, 1904, and this pattern is even later, but the authors were talking about official approval...The makers were making and selling them anyhow.

Sacre merde! Wuerttemburg!! I do not know for sure about that State. They may have allowed the folding guard before Prussia formally authorized it for their troops.
