    Is this a good and original American M1860 sword?

    Is this a good and original American Civil War M1860 sword?

    Blade markings: U.S. ADK 1862 and AMESMFGCº CHICOPEE MASS
    Hilt numbered: 14305
    Scabbard marked ADK.
    Length: 107 cm.

    I agree with Glen, from the second photo I could tell it is a repro.

    I also agree - reproduction. The font on the markings is all wrong, the grip lacks the hump found on Ames M1860 cavalry sabers. The shape of the brass hilt elements are also wrong.

    Looks repro, brass looks "aged" rather than old, that while the blade is in flawless condition, and yes the text font looks wrong too
