    Hamburg Maritime Museum

    Is absolutely fantastic and well worth a visit for more than just the naval swords.

    Great displays, puts the ROM in Toronto to shame when it comes to edged weapons. Political correctness mothballed what they had.

    That’s truly awful to hear. But I suspect this PC will spread. It seems museums are now becoming more interested in creating a narrative than preserving and displaying historical objects (arguably the precise purpose of a museum!).

    Great pictures - thanks for posting. If you have any other pictures of the boarding axes please pm me. They have an unusually good collection.
    I agree about the PC gone mad.
    It is hard to find any sort of blade in the National Maritime Museum in London but their online catalogue shows that they have hundreds in store.
