    WW1 German Sword?

What are your thoughts on this sword?
It looks German but also looks Masonic?
The blade measures 24 inches in length.
It has the number (6) marked on the blade.
    Thank you

Not my area at all but the Germans were buddys with the Ottomans perhaps they made them a sword. Eric

It looks like a fraternal sword to me. I know similar ones were pictured in period catalogs for various fraternal organizations and theater use as well.

Tony, it appears to be a sword designed by a committee. The hilt is from a German dove-head saber, the blade is unknown to me and the cartoonish figure on the quillon block must be from a theatrical sword.
a good discussion piece. regards, Rob

I'm being lazy but I believe it is in the Hamilton, Kaplan and Marino fraternal book. I have a different example for the group in my files. I'll check in awhile.

There are a few other similar combinations of military sword/scimitar used by several groups but the Veiled Prophet face unmistakable as belonging to that order.
