swords carried by Boarder Reivers ?

for about 400 yr.s the lowland Scottish/English boarders was a place of turmoil ( rampant lawlessness etc).

During this time both the Scottish & the English inhabitants of the boarder areas armed themselves, often with daggers &/or swords. Obviously the types , over the yr.s were dif. They were of course the choice of the individual, but IMHO they basically influenced by what was readily avail,& used in England (?)

I currently carry a Mortuary that perhaps may typify a type ( my Lowland Scots ancestor 1590+) carried.
But I am look @ getting another that would be carried in the early to mid 1500s .
