    Help Identifying Markings?

I have this sword a while now and I am looking for help identifying the marks on the blade, I believe it is a 1854 pattern light cavalry sword to a German manufacturer

You have a sword made by "Gebruder Weyersberg" (Weyersberg Brothers). You can find all the information you need on Google or any good search engine. They are a well documented blade maker and produced everything from swords and bayonets to straight razors. Nice find.

Old Swords .com is a great asset to sword collectors. If you think you have the bug you may want to sign up. It is very inexpensive and is always a great start researching makers.

The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." --- Tench Coxe
