Genuine or fake French An XI heavy cavalry sword?

I bought this in a local sale. I think it may well be original, but I am no expert and am easily fooled. Still has the hatchet point.Name: DSC01450.jpg

Full disclosure, I intend to sell it but I didn't want to sell it as genuine if it's not.

That's why I bought it, it had the early heavy scabbard with it. Which goes well with a scabbardless early An IX I have.

Sometimes you have to buy sword and scabbard to get a scabbard you want. When Ebay was in its infancy someone in the US was selling two French line cavalry swords and I bought both cheaply. As some did in the past was to coat the brass hilts in varnish. This made the swords appear to be possibly reproductions. However both were real and having Waterloo era dates on the blade spine. I sold those many years ago and I can't find any others for $150 each anymore.
