    Information requeston - Manton P 1912

I've heard that these Manton and Co. P 1912s are reproductions and the field scabbard on this one certainly has the feel of an inexpensively made piece. This piece has been in my collection for at least 40 years and probably closer to 50. Can anyone tell me the story behind these? Are they reproductions? When did they first come on the market? Who made them? Any information would be appreciated. There is an area on the spine (last photo) where a file has been used to obscure something. A maker name?

The etching is very poor, the proof disc is similar to a repro discussed in the thread below, I would bet its not original but more photos should help.

Definitely an older reproduction of the 1912p. Note the faked proved disc with HW that copies Henry Wilkinsons disc. Some type of reptile skin for the grip covering.
