    Dagger with silver Sheath

Help me with this please. 44 cm dagger, short fuller at one side, ca 30 cm blade and silver scabbard. The scabbard has rococo decoration. The dagger is of "Landsknecht" type, but not the scabbard.

    Dear Lars,

Very attractive dagger and you are right - scabbard is not native to this dagger. And also is different than one being sold with this dagger on auction:
    Antony Cribb Ltd, auction 30/o7/2019 lot 167 (https://bid.antonycribb.com/m/lot-de...og/18/lot/6144). Hammer price £1,800 .
In my opinion this is a Victorian repro, or at best, a composite piece with the original grip/blade and later quatrefoil guard. The original scabbard (sold on auction) is definitely a later manufacture and not typical to usually elaborate and richly ornamented Landscnecht dagger scabbard. So is thye price.

    Best Regards,
    Alex
