Tsuka Maki - Shin Gunto style sword - How to tie knot
Hi,
I am not new to swords, but I have never tied a Tsuka Maki in my life, so very new to this. I have my grandfathers souvenir sword, when he was in Burma during WW2. It is an imitation Japanese katana, which I have replacement Ito, Same and Menuki to wrap the Tsuka.
My issue, is that whilst I have seen various video's of wrapping the handle, my Tsuka does not have a cut out section at the end, so will need the knot to be tied without being passed through the tsuka, similar to that in the image. Does anyone have any links on how to tie this knot?
