Pillin: A Family of Sword Cutlers

    Hi all,

My article on the family behind the Pillin sword cutler dynasty has just been published online in the Royal Armouries journal: Arms & Armour.

It's something of a niche area, even for British sword aficionados, but if anyone is interested, I have some links available which offer free access to the article, where it can be downloaded.

I hope to follow this up with a further article regarding Pillin proof discs and serial numbering, once i gather a little more data.

I have identified 107 examples of numbered Pillin swords so far but I'm always on the lookout for additional information and keen to hear from anyone with a numbered Pillin sword.

PM me if you'd like a link the the published article.

    Regards

    Great article, James.
Well worth a read for anyone with an interest in Pillin or British swords, especially of the Victorian era.
