Need help with Wilkinson sword and history of owner JJ Gover

This sword was found some years ago. According to Wilkinson the serial number 32053 belonged to J. J. Gover. He was in the 20th Middelsex Rifle Volunteers.
Who can help me on more information on Mr. J.J. Gover?

Thank you very much! The image is unfortunately unsharp. Can you help me out and give the rank and date as listed? Thank you.

Suggest you search ‘The Gazette ‘, found this to start you off. I assume you know the Sword was made in 1893. Ben.

    Thank you.
May 1891 2nd Lieutenant and may 1900 Captian. Wonder if he did active service in the second Boer war.
Research plus photo (maybe?) to be continued.

It’s Admitted Pensioner, a student who does not receive financial support from their college, apparently.
