English iron hilted small-sword?

Can anyone comment on this piece, is it English?

Ca 1725 with a hilt of A. V. B. Normans type 109 with a round pommel, the grip bound in twisted, braided and smooth wire, the hand-guard splits in two of which one end forms a ring and the other the quillion with a single edged blade c 77 cm long with a fuller on each side running to the point.

Could be English, could be French or German.
I would say 1750-1770

It is a loop hilt spadroon, likely English with that grip work having copper tape.

Here is an English silver hallmarked example. Photos from Shiloh Relics.





The fullered single edged blades fall into the spadroon category.

Ivan's timeline about right but it could be earlier.
