    Apologies before you look

    I’m hoping someone can help please.

    This is the only photo I have. Would anyone know what type of sword this is and what nationality it is please. I know it’s not much to go on, but fingers crossed!

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    The hilt of the sword looks like the Austro-Hungarian M1850 cavalry. Others may correct me, but these or similar hilts were also on some South American models.
