Yet another videogame hits the big screen - "DOA: Dead or Alive"

Why does this movie trailer remind me of a cross between Beatrix Kiddo and Charlie's Angels: http://www.doa.film.de/
"Impossible" is a word that humans use far too often.

Gah, it looks so bad but I guess that's the standard for video game movie adaptations. I'm glad I'm not a fan of DoA. Tekken is the fighter game for me. Then again, Tekken is being adapted to a movie so...I dread its release.
Some stories can't be told by words.
Some legends are meant to die.
Some bloodlines must come to an end.

    - Old Snake

Whoever wins, the battle does not end. The loser is freed from the battlefield, the winner must remain there, and the survivor must live his life as the warrior until he dies.
    - Big Boss' final words to Solid Snake

A name means nothing on the battlefield. After a week, no one has a name.
    - Naked Snake

I'm sick an tired with this noodle-armed-chicks-with-blades hollywood fad.
The Warrior draws his blade to end life.

The Swordsman draws his blade to preserve life.

I like chicks-with-blades flicks, but more along the lines of "Crouching Tiger" or "Kill Bill".

Personal preference. I loved it. But Iīm sure DoA will suck, although I like the game
What if the bird will not sing?
    Nobunaga answers, "Kill it!"
Hideyoshi answers, "Make it want to sing."
    Ieyasu answers, "Wait."

I'm sure you like the game alot. The graphics are impressive. So is the gameplay. What's not to like about exchanging Jeet Kun Do slaps back and forth?

Oh yeah, love the graphics . But Jeet Kune Do isnīt my thing, I prefer to play with Tina. She just got the biggest, erm best moves, yeah, you know, Iīm a big wrestling fan and all...

And itīs definitely no game you play for the story, so thatīs maybe the biggest obstacle to making a decent movie out of it. If they would have done what was done by making the Street Fighter Animated Movie, i.e. concentrate on whatīs important(fights, showers, more fights...), it could have turned out all right...

Okay, I think all of you have learned enough about me today. Iīm off.

    Cheers, Peter

The name 'DOA' is appropriate because this movie is going to be Dead On Arrival.
