What's happened to "The Mad Piper"?

I have not been able to bring his web site up...

(The sword maker, not the WWII D-day hero).

    Anybody know?

    Cheers,

Donnie's site is still up. I had no trouble getting to it. Maybe a temporary server malfunction. Lasst I spoke to Donnie he was laboring over a long-promised Scottish-style rifle with the "herring" butt. Should be a beauty when finished!

Donnie's making a rifle?! Wow. That sounds like a very interesting project.
Give my regards to him the next time you speak with him, George.

I just tried to email Donnie and it appears his mailbox is full. I sent an email last week, but didn't get a response, which is very un-Donnie-like. Someone out there please let me know if he's on vacation. Thanks.

I just tried emailing Donnie for the third time in the past 2 weeks -- emails keep bouncing back to me. I had his cell phone number at one time, but lost it when my computer crashed.

If anyone hears from him, please update this post so we know he's okay.

I grabbed both his cell phone number and his home number off his website and left a message on his cell number, but haven't gotten a response yet. Hopefully, I will get a response soon.

    Off Topic

Speaking of the Madpiper, did anyone here realize that Donnie Shearer was a USMC combat photographer during the Vietnam war, and saw some pretty heavy action...?

Not that this has anything to do with the subject at hand, but I like to honor veterans when I can...

EDIT: Here's a link to one of Sgt. Donnie's more famous pics...

Just heard back from Donnie. He was away on a trip to the old country for a while. Here's an excerpt from his email to me:

"I was away for a month in Scotland, had to go to Glasgow and sign the ledger, pay my dues and take care of some other business, not to mention have a break form the shop. We returned last Thursday and will hit the shop Monday morning."
