How long have you been on Sword Forum?:

How did you hear about Sword Forum?:
Trawling through the internet to investigate my first purchase - 1897 Royal Marine Officer's sword.
Sword Collection:
A variety of British, German, French and Japanese cavalry and infantry swords, and British, German, and Japanese bayonets.
Ex-Servicemen - Australian Army Reserve for 12 years. Secondary School teacher - history - forever. Father of three, grandfather of two.
Central Coast NSW Australia
I have become in my older years a collector of WW1 memorabilia, Started with a Brit officer's sword and has exploded into helmets, maps, books and trench art. That's what divorce does to you!
Secondary History Teacher
Favorite Swords:
C19th & C20th cavalry swords. I have a genuine Japanese Infantry Officer's sword brought back from New Guinea by my father in 1942. He 'acquired' it at Buna/Gona. That's the favourite because of the family. Very partial to my issue KD89.

“The Australian Light Horse attack on Beersheba was the last important cavalry charge in history and the last to win a resounding victory that altered the course of a war." Alec Hepburn
